World-Class Medical Innovation District

Fort Worth’s Medical Innovation District is home to Tarrant County’s major hospitals, as well as dozens of independent medical clinics. This 1,200-acre area is located in the heart of the Near Southside neighborhood, adjacent to Downtown, and already employs more than 30,000 workers in the medical field. The district is also the site of TCU’s Burnett School of Medicine.

The Medical Innovation District (MID) includes several nodes of innovation which fall outside of the Near Southside, including the campus of Texas A&M-Fort Worth, UNT Health Science Center, and UTA’s Research Institute.

Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center is a full-service, not-for-profit hospital that offers a broad range of medical services, including programs of excellence in cardiology, transplantation, neurosciences, oncology, and women’s health services through the Andrews Women’s Hospital. In 2006, the organization celebrated 100 years of service in Fort Worth.

A fixture in Fort Worth since 1906, JPS Health Network operates JPS Hospital, which provides emergency services and trauma care, alongside services in family medicine, cardiology, oncology, geriatrics, and more. JPS is home to one of Tarrant County’s Level 1 trauma centers, and offers the county’s only psychiatric emergency services site. It is also a teaching site, supporting nine residency programs – including one of the largest hospital-based family medicine residency programs in the nation.

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital is a full-service medical center and the first hospital in the country to earn the designation of Joint Commission Primary Heart Attach Center. The facility is also a Level 1 Trauma Center. The hospital has seen a number of expansions over the years, including the Marion Emergency Care Center and Justin Tower.
